"The scuba diver dives to look around while the freediver dives to look inside himself". Umberto Pelizzari
3 Key Things to Focus on When Freediving with CWT (Constant Weight) 🌊 Why More Weight Doesn’t Make You a Better Freediver Equalization: don’t wait until your ears hurt! Freediving isn’t about chasing numbers Freediving can change your life quality by changing your lifestyle and daily routine. If you’re new to freediving, equalization will likely be your biggest challenge. Even experienced scuba divers, instructors included, can struggle to equalize on a freediving dive. Turn is a simple element, but most of beginners and even advanced freedivers do it wrong. Filming your performance is one of the fastest ways to improve your technique. What feels smooth in the water or on the field often looks very different on camera, and that gap between perception and reality is where your biggest gains hide. Video lets you slow down, pause, and replay a movement frame by frame, catching small flaws like a dropped elbow, a late kick, or poor body alignment that you’d never notice in real time. It also gives you an objective record, so you can compare your form week to week and see real progress instead of guessing. Coaches benefit too, since they can point to specific moments rather than relying on verbal cues alone. You don’t need fancy gear either, because a phone propped on a tripod or held by a friend is plenty. Make it a habit to film your sessions from time to time, review videos with fresh eyes, and pick one thing to fix next time. Every breath hold starts with relaxation breathing.

Kaizen is THE freediving school to learn from!!!. There was so much depth in their teachings. If you are serious about learning freediving I recommend Eduardo. Great instructor, very thorough and safety conscious.

I did the padi freediver level 1 course, the instructors were really accommodating and patient.

I had an issue with equalising and had to stop freediving and the instructors were very careful and knowledgeable. They took my concerns seriously and their advice was great, they didn’t push me to continue and instead encouraged me to seek medical advice. kaizen seems a lovely community and they really know their stuff. Hope I can come back and finish my course and do some fun dives with the team
